The cell theory consists of the following all living things are made up of cells, cells are the basic unit of life, and and new cells come from pre existing cells. Hooke looked through a microscope and saw that living things were all are made up of cells, which then lead Theodore to study animals and realize that the tiny cells are the basic unit of life.
