The correct term for the loss of water from a leaf surface is B. - evaporation since it is only from the surface. When we say evaporation, it is the process of a liquid turning into a gaseous form from the leaf to the atmosphere, but if we say transpiration, it is the process of evaporation of the water inside the plant to the atmosphere.
