The product of two numbers is 30. The sum of the two numbers is 20. What might the two numbers be?

Hello,

Let's be a and b the 2 numbers.

a+b=20==>b=20-a
a*b=30==>a*(20-a)=30
==>a²-20+30=0
Δ=20²-4*30=4*70
a=(20+2√70)/2 or a=(20-2√70)/2
==>(a=10+√70 and b=10-√70) or (a=10-√70 and b=10+√70)
The 2 numbers are 10+√70 and 10-√70 .
