a + b = 76 . . . (1)
a - b = 36 . . . (2)

(1) - (2) => 2b = 40
b = 40/2 = 20

From (1), a + 20 = 76
a = 76 - 20 = 56

Therefore, a/b = 56/20 = 2.8
