Answer:

1/3x-2 = y

-3x-12 = y

Therefore, 1/3x-2 = -3x-12

or, 1/3x-2+3x = -3x-12+3x (adding 3x to both sides)

or, x(1/3+3)-2 = -12

or, x{(1+9)/3} = -10

or, x(10/3) = -10

or, x = -3

Hence, the required value for x for this system of equation is -3.
