A cone has a height of 24 inches, a slant height of 25 inches, and a diameter of 14 inches. What is the surface area of the cone?

the curved surface area of a cone is π x base radius x slant height 
so the total surface area including the base circle will be 
π x 7 x 25 (curved surface) + π x 7² (base area)
= 703.72 (corr to 2 dp)
