What is the inverse of the function f(x) = 2x – 10?

ANSWER:

f(x)⁻¹ = (x+10)/2

WORKING OUT:

f(x) = 2x - 10

y = 2x - 10

*Replace all 'y' values with 'x' and vice versa*

x = 2y - 10

*Make y the subject of the equation*

2y = x+10

y = (x+10)/2
