The maximum length of pole is 24.19 ft.

We have widths of the corridors are 24 ft and 3 ft.

The maximum length of a pole is the length of the diagonal.

So, we find the length of the diagonal

Use Pythagoras theorem we have

[tex]c^2=a^2+b^2\\c ^2= 24^2 + 3^2\\c^2 = 576 + 9\\c^2 = 585\\c = \sqrt{585} \\c = 24.19 ft[/tex]

Therefore, the maximum length of a pole is 24.19 ft.
